We had some most entertaining stories at our last Oral Storytelling gathering.
Each month we have a prompt for our story swap. Last month it was stories that have 'gold' or something 'golden' in the tale whether it be folklore, personal story or historical adventure or mystery. We heard traditional folktales from Turkey, Russia, China, Brazil, a Grimm’s Brothers Tale, a newly created story and two personal stories - one comical and the other a sensitive reflection on the symbolism of the Gold wedding ring.
As people enjoyed this focus we have decided to continue with the theme of ‘Golden Stories’
If you would like to tell a story of 5-6 minutes email Christine Carlton at storyaus@gmail.com to be put on the list to tell a story. Your story could be a personal story, myth, legend, or folktale. - The word ‘Gold’ or ‘Golden’ must appear in the story.
This is a free online event organised by the Australian Storytelling Guild (NSW). Come as a listener or teller. All welcome.
