From story circles, to performances, workshops, and our biennial international conference, Storytellers NSW hosts a range of events throughout the year to let you experience oral storytelling and develop your own storytelling craft.
Writing is a collaborative communication between the creator and the audience. That collaboration will vary significantly if the audience is there, staring up at you, or in some distant place or time, reading the words you have created. What is it that needs to be expressed if words are your only bridge?
For all those lovers of Fairytales- the Sydney Fairytale Ring of the Australian Fairytale Society is holding the event:: "Vasilisa the Fair and the Australian Connections".
Join Lindy, Ulf & Julie, for a night of fabulous live storytelling. Personal stories and traditional tales told by storytellers and people with a story to tell. Stories told by adults, for adults.

Celebrate this year’s World Storytelling Day theme “Myths, Legends, and Epics”.
Enjoy free interactive and engaging stories from near and far ... from ‘Once upon a time’ to ‘not so very long ago’. In the shade of leafy branches, storytellers will weave their magic with words, song, puppetry and performance to transport you to wonderful and imaginary worlds.
Free event. Bring your own picnic. Drop in anytime! In the event of wet weather, meet at the Maiden Pavilion, just above the Band Lawn. Suitable for all ages!

We feature storytellers and people with a story to tell. Personal stories, tall tales, myths, legends, fairy tales and poetry with featured tellers, open mic & music.

Your Story Your Place: Story Making Series
Your Story Your Place will be monthly 2 hour interactive story workshops, facilitated by the hosts of Long Story Short, Lindy Mitchell-Nilsson, Dr.Julie Mundy Taylor & Ulf Nilsson.
Your Story Your Place will build participants' capacity to discover, develop and share stories about themselves and their place in the community. Through the mutual sharing of stories, in the inclusive, supportive environment of Your Story Your Space, participants will forge stronger community ties which foster the sense of belonging.
Your Story Your Place will consist a range of activities such as, narrative warm up games, storytelling improvisation, storytelling skills & supported story sharing and ongoing mentoring for story creation & sharing. There will be optional performance opportunities for those who wish, on the stage at Long Story Short and recording as podcasts.
