We remember a friend, a dedicated member of our Storytelling Guild, and a woman of extraordinary warmth, generosity, and wit. Dianne gave so much of herself to our community, serving as past President, Treasurer, and Public Officer. She was always such a wonderful support, always ready with kind words of encouragement, a helping hand, and a wicked sense of humour.
As an emcee, she had a gift for holding a room, weaving words with grace and charm. Her talents extended beyond storytelling—she was a wedding and funeral celebrant, guiding others through life’s most profound moments with dignity and heart. She also expressed her creativity through her artwork, bringing color and beauty into the world. And, of course, Dianne was always impeccably stylish—well-groomed and effortlessly elegant, just as she was in spirit.
In remembering Dianne this quote by Maya Angelou feels fitting:
"I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
Dianne clearly made a lasting impact—both in words and in the way she uplifted others. Her laughter, and her kind generosity will be deeply missed. Yet, we carry her memory forward in our stories, in our gatherings, and in the friendship she shared with us.
Rest in peace, dear Dianne.
