Dark Enchantment

Dark Enchantment 2019 was a joint event held by the Sydney Fairy Tale Ring and the NSW Storytelling Guild on 16 November.

A delightful concert/seminar presenting four different fairy tales through different versions of the stories, with introductions to the history and various interpretations, it opened up these tales to a much deeper understanding for our shared communities.

Bluebeard was introduced by Debra Phillips, with the Perrault and original personal stories told by Guild President Lindy Mitchell-Nilsson.

Little Mermaid had explanations by Tania Porra Gonzalez and stories from Karen Eastwood from Anderson, and about Jessica Watson as the Australian Little Mermaid.

Michael Patterson and Allana Christie shared an exploration of little-known and rather-challenging Australian fairy tale,The Magic Gun.

Graham Harman opened up Sleeping Beauty to multiple interpretations supported by some stories from Jo Henwood.
